Stumbling Through Life, part 1

LBH, it doesn't take much to distract me these days. Thanks to Annee, I have a new amazing way to waste extraordinary amounts of time: StumbleUpon.

StumbleUpon is a website where you can download a toolbar for your browser. It will ask you to customize your interests. The toolbar has a nifty little button that says "Stumble!" Once you click on it, it takes you to random things on the internet that have been recommended by others. It's amazing.

Starting today, "I Know, Right??" will have a brand new weekly post entitled "Stumbling Through Life" where I will post my 5 favorite newly-discovered sites of the week. I hope that you will be inspired to start stumbling and share your favorite sites with all of us!

STL, part 1:
In no particular order:

1. UncommonGoods.

This site features unique gifts that are moderate-to-pricey.
I spent an unhealthy amount of time drooling over the "home decor" section.

2. Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About
Such a funny list! It's incredibly long! I haven't read all of it... yet!

3. FatFingers
Did you know that tons of people misspell things on eBay?
If you can find them, you may be able to get stuff for super cheap!
Take advantage of someone's stupidity!
On this site, you can type in what you're looking for and it will search common misspellings!

4. I Park Like an Idiot!
My dad would love this one!
They actually sell packs of bumper stickers for those who are annoyed by bad parkers!
Oh, what I would have done for a pack of these when I lived in P-town!

5. Top Secret Recipes!

This site has recipes from some of my favorite restaurants!!
You have to purchase most of them, but they have some awesome recipes for free! I found some awesome recipes that I can't wait to try!

BREAKING NEWS!

Telling people that you're not stupid is kind of the equivalent of telling people you're funny, in my book. If it is true, you don't have to announce it. Except in this news story she insists that she has created this "dumb" character that is not at all similar to her actual personality.

So now she's expecting us to believe
that she's smart AND a good actress??
Riiiiiiiiiiiight....

Amazing!

I love Target. I know some people are morally opposed to this idea, but I buy all my makeup there. It has a little to do with being in school and super-poor, but also a lot to do with the fact that I just can't justify spending $30 on a tube of mascara. Or any makeup for that matter (and let's be honest, I don't really wear a lot anyway). The past few weeks, I have been intrigued by the commercials for L'Oreal's new Double Extend mascara with Beauty Tube technology. I just didn't understand the logistics. "It can't work as well as they say that it does," I thought to myself. Still, I couldn't wait for the day that I needed to buy a new tube of mascara. Well, friends... that day was Saturday. For the first time in a while, I am really impressed with my mascara. It is my obsession of the week. Check it out!!

Oh, Britney...

How dumb do I feel? I didn't even notice!

But I knew that I thought the song was stupid.

I'd Like to Thank the Academy....

...for once again nominating movies that a majority of the country did not see. I saw the list this afternoon and had to laugh. I can honestly say that I've only seen one movie on the list this year (The Dark Knight). An improvement over last year when I actually did not see any of the movies until well after the Oscars (and even then, I only saw Juno).

Good try, Academy.
Better luck next year.

Property.

PROF: Kathleen? Are you here, Kathleen?
KEC: I'm here.
PROF: Can you give me the details of this case?
KEC: I actually can't. I read the wrong assignment. I'm sorry.
PROF: Well, ok then. I'm going to have to mark you absent today.
KEC: Sounds good, thanks!

Sounds good, thanks? That's what I said? HAHA

Inglés, Por Favor?

I went to Target tonight. When I picked up my Fruity Pebbles, I happened to spot a box of Rice Krispies. "Mmmmm... Rice Krispie Treats!" I thought to myself. So I picked up the box, got some marshmallows and went on my way. I got home and I'm about to make them. I opened the box and ripped out the directions. They read as follows:

Rice Krispies Treats Receta
3 cucharadas de margarina o mantequilla
1 paquete (10 oz, aprox. 40) de malavaviscos regulares o 4 tazas de malvaviscos en miniatura
6 tazas de cereal Rice Krispies de Kellogg's

And it continues on from there. Spanish?? I looked all over the box for the instructions in English. They're not there.

Wait... on second look... maybe they are... but it's a recipe for RKT in the shape of Kung Fu Panda. I feel kinda dumb................ Nevermind.

A Long Over-Due Promise.

This week has been especially frigid. It's only expected to get worse. Don't get me wrong--I love lounging in my bed and taking long naps, but I have other things that I need to get done. Winter is not very conducive to my schedule. So, instead of complaining about it, I've decided to do something about it. According to ecobridge.org (I've never heard of it, but it ends in ".org" which means it must be true, right?) there are a few things that I can do personally to accelerate global warming. I am tired of politicians promising global warming and never following through. My promise to you tonight ladies and gents is to do everything in my power to make sure our children and our children's children never have to put up with this kind of weather (they can thank me later).
From now on...
I PROMISE TO...
Purchase large amounts of stock in coal companies.
Buy a huge honkin' SUV with bad gas mileage.
Move to a large city where I have the opportunity to sit in lots of traffic.
Drive said SUV everywhere. And I mean
everywhere.
(Across the street, to my neighbor's, the mailbox, the dumpster--you name it!)
Crank up the heat in any building where the thermostat is accessible.
Fly in airplanes. Perhaps even private jets.
(The fewer people on the plane, the better it is for everyone!)
Eat more rice.
Use laughing gas at every dental appointment.
(You know, I think my next cleaning might "hurt a little...")
Cut down trees.
(Every one I see. No exceptions.)

I may not be able to do it all on my own, but I believe that one person can make a difference. Will you join me in making the weather better for our posterity?

My Ticket to Hell.

I tried to avoid it, but I fear that I've gotten my mom's cold. Today, after leaving church early, I realized that I did not have one of the books that I needed for school. I decided to swing by school and grab it out of my locker (I know, right?? How middle school!). The traffic was bad, so I decided to go down a back alley/street only to find that there was a funeral at the funeral home in said alley/street... it must have been a viewing. So the crowd is pouring into the middle of this road. Two cars in front of me, the driver pulls on to the left side of the road to get around. The car in front of me decides that he's going to also pull onto the left side, but wait to see if any parking spots open in the funeral home's lot. He was then completely blocking any chance I had of getting around him. He was in my way and had no plans of moving, so I tapped my horn.

I honked my horn at a funeral-goer looking for a parking spot.

I'm sick and was in a cold-medicine induced fog. I just wanted to grab my Torts book and cuddle up in my bed. Given the circumstances, would you do the same thing or did I just book myself a one-way, non-stop ticket to hell?
