Oh, Boy.

Dear Jake,

I'll admit that I'm not an expert on the rules of "The Bachelor." I don't usually watch it because it conflicts with Gossip Girl.

With that little disclaimer, I think I should tell you that I feel as if you are taking this show a little too seriously. Really, I understand that you don't want to waste these poor girls' time by keeping them there when you know you're not going to pick them, but think about this: they pretty much acknowledged that they have nothing better to do with their time when they auditioned for "The Bachelor."

The way you're sending home women, next week could be the finale. I know that Chris Hanson was super-supportive last night, but the man still needs to feed his family. You can drag this out for another month... and please do because it's kinda entertaining and Gossip Girl isn't back until March.

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Sexy Chick

So, I don't know if you've heard this new song.... but right in the chorus he proclaims:
I'm trying to find the words to describe this girl without being disrespectful.
Makes me laugh every time.

(PS- In case you haven't heard it, "Sexy Chick" is the non-disrespectful description that he finds)

It's Time

Dear Library,

Remember the time my books were 6 days late and you charged me $3.00? Well, this time my books were 3 weeks late...

So I think the obvious thing to do here is break up. Actually, I will probably just stop calling you and stop coming around until you eventually forget about me. We're both better off this way, I promise. You got your books back, and I'll get to keep my $9. We'll call it even. Maybe someday we'll meet again...

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Grocery Shopping

We're now a "buy 2 gallons of milk at a time" family.
There are only 2 of us.
Can you imagine when we have kids??
How many gallons at a time will we have to buy then??

Thumbs Up.

I feel like sometimes people don't get enough credit for great customer service. I just wanted to point out some individuals who deserve to be recognized:

Jessica from the XM Sattelite Radio call center: I called to cancel my XM subscription and she actually gave me 4 extra months for free. I'll be calling back in May to re-cancel. Hopefully she will be as helpful then :)

The men & women of my local United States Post Offices:I must say that I was rather impressed with the attitudes of the workers this Christmas season. The last few mailing-days were crazy around there.... yet they moved everyone through the lines efficiently and were so nice!! Way to go, guys!

Just wanted to show you what I saw at the lavandaria a few weeks ago...

Get Cookies.

It all started last Sunday during church. All of the sudden, a though popped into my mind...

I NEED COOKIES.

After that, it was all I could think about! "Get cookies! Get cookies! Get cookies!" Luckily, I had all of the ingredients waiting for me at home. I made the cookies. The dough tasted better than chocolate chip cookie dough has ever tasted. Seriously. So I've been snacking on said cookies all week (the batch made a ton). So in the midst of all of this, I checked out the 90% off Christmas section at Target and brought home more cookie mix the other day. Anyway, I thought I had forgotten all about the cookies yesterday.... until I called Steve. He told me that he finished off the cookies and this feeling of despair washed over me. I said, "oh... ok...." I didn't have time to bake another batch, so I decided that I would make some fake cookie dough for lunch. I got a bowl and combined butter, brown sugar, vanilla, flour, and chocolate chips. It tasted heavenly for about 3 bites.... and then I thought I was going to vomit. I thought that I would be home before Steve, so I just left it on the counter.

Well.... I was wrong. Steve got home before me and as I was taking off my shoes, I heard... "So, let me get this straight.... you made cookie dough in a bowl and then ate it?" And I said, "Well.... sort of..."

Moral of the story: If you're going to eat something that you'll be ashamed of later.... clean it up before you leave the house!!
