List Four

Six TV Shows Cancelled Before Their Time:
  1. The Event-NBC-2011-I have so many unanswered questions! In fact, I had a dream that was a lot like I was in The Event last week. I think we should petition for a second season!
  2. Justice-Fox-2006-About a high-profile criminal defense law firm. They moved it around to just about every night of the week before it disappeared! It was awesome!
  3. Point Pleasant-Fox-2005-They cancelled this mid-season. I guess I will never find out whether the priest is dead or alive... or if Christina ever learned to suppress her dark side.
  4. Everwood-WB-2002-2006-They cancelled this when the WB became the CW... but they brought back Seventh Heaven?? What the heck??
  5. Dirty Sexy Money-ABC-2007-2009-This really ended on a cliff-hanger for me. I heard a rumor that they showed the last episodes a few summers back, but I couldn't find them on TV or online (according to Wikipedia, it aired at 10pm on Saturdays! What the heck??)!
  6. Southland-NBC-2009-Steve and I really liked this show, but we didn't follow it to TNT. Now I'm too far behind to get back into it. I consider it cancelled.
Not on this list:
  • Arrested Development - I love this show. Might have made the list, except season 3 was dumb.
  • Alias - Seasons 1-4 were great... and I lost interest about 2 weeks into Season 5.
  • The OC - I was sad to see this go... but what did they expect when they killed Marissa Cooper? I didn't hate the last season, though. And I really liked the ending--hooray for another Cohen baby!
Also--is Dating in the Dark coming back this summer? I really hope it comes back this summer! Otherwise, consider it added to this list.

My Real Baby & My Fake Baby

It's been a whole week since I posted a picture of G! How will you even recognize him?? He's growing so much these days!

We put him in a box to send him to Grandma's. Then he decided that he wanted to stand on his own! He did it for probably 30 seconds before he got really, really wobbly.

On a funny note, do you think this looks like our baby?

I don't... except for the pale skin. Anyway, a few years ago, Megan & I were really stretching to find things to do other than study and we found a website called MakeMeBabies. It has since changed and is now more of a facebook app. Lame. But when it was cool and easy and didn't require downloading junk onto our computers, we spent hours putting people into the generator and tagging their babies on facebook. This is what Steve and I's baby came out like. I saved it like this instead of the big format because Steve and I had only been dating for about 2 months and I didn't want to weird him out if he found it on my computer. I think my real baby is much cuter, don't you??

Funny Headline

I was reading Slate Magazine tonight and came upon the following headline:

Murdoch Sells MySpace for $35 Million, $545 Million Less Than He Paid for It.

Then I said, "wait. Someone paid money for MySpace??"

  • List Three

Two things I want to do in Philadelphia next week:
    1. Eat a Cheesesteak (or seven)
    2. See Family & Friends

    Yawn.

Dr. Phil is doing a show about a gossip website today. I don't think I'm getting the right message from this show. Instead of being disgusted, I went straight to the website.

I just think it's a dumb website. I don't know these people--I don't care what they did or didn't do. Good for this guy for turning this dumb website into a living. It's just a shame that he will eventually be sued for all he's worth.

Moral of the Story: Yawn. I'm turning back to the Casey Anthony trial.

(I would do something productive, but G fell asleep beside me on the couch and I don't want to wake him... but I can't leave him alone because he's rolling all over the place these days.)

    Just Because

    'Ello!

Umm... let's chat for a second.

    Have you seen this movie??

I rented it from the Redbox on Saturday night because the movie I wanted to rent was gone. This is quite possibly one of the funniest movies I've seen in a really, really long time! I thought I had given up on Adam Sandler movies after being ridiculously underwhelmed by "Grown Ups." This is really, really funny and pretty clean, too! It is an Adam Sandler movie, so there are a few jokes here and there, but I was surprised at how clean it was! Rent it. Like now. You won't regret it!

    List Two

Five Ten College Classes I Took Just to Pass the Time
(and because I needed 120 credits to graduate):
    1. Basic Guitar Skills - Totally fun!
    2. Intro to Public Relations - Fun, but full of a bunch of Type A crazies.
    3. Preparation for Marriage - Fun class... weird assignments. (Mini-dates??)
    4. Islam & the Gospel - Not as interesting as it sounds. Oh wait--it doesn't sound interesting? I don't know why I took this.
    5. Public Speaking - To be honest, most of the time I was just winging it.
    6. Current Social Problems - I had a major social problem with that crazy communist professor.
    7. Essentials of Human Nutrition - Really... does that sound like something I care about?? My mom suggested that I take it. I shouldn't have listened.
    8. LDS Temples - Great class! Very easy! Great professor!
    9. Mass Communication & Society - This was a 3 hour class once a week. Most of the time I left at the break.
    10. Organizational Effectiveness - Stupid. I took this because it was supposed to be easy. It wasn't.

    Father's Day Birthday!

My super talented and creative baby is at it again! This is the card that George made for his Daddy and grandpas! I really need his computer skills!

We had such a nice day yesterday.... we went to church and then relaxed as a family (something we get to do.. um... never)! It was nice to just have a lazy day together. We made burgers for Steve for dinner and then sang "Happy Birthday" to him over a pecan pie. George was so good all day and even took an extra-long nap (seriously--we took a nap, made and ate dinner all while he slept).

It was a great day! I hope you all had a good day with your families, too!

    List One

So, my friend Molly sent me a challenge... sort of. She more suggested that I do what this girl is doing, which is to make a list every week for a year. 52 lists for 52 weeks!

I think it sounds like fun, so I think I'll do this every Wednesday! This is going to get difficult... but fun, too. Everyone should join in! The more the merrier!

So, without further adieu, this week's list:

Five Bad Things I Did as a Kid:
    1. Age 7: I tried to walk to school with my friend Amber instead of taking the bus. Then I tried to lie to my mom... like she didn't already know.
    2. Age 12: I put bleach on my white shoes after they came out of the washer. Then I set them on the stairs... on top of hunter green carpet. There was an orange stain there for about 10 years.
    3. Age 4/5: I stuck a push-pin in the belly button of my sister's "Baby So Real" (The ones filled with water?) I remember having the idea and knowing it was a bad idea... but doing it anyway.
    4. Age 8: When Erin was in kindergarten (and I was in 3rd grade), I let the school bus drive away with her still on it. We didn't sit together... and she fell asleep. The bus driver eventually found her--at the bus garage.
    5. Age 5?: The babysitter put us to bed and then her boyfriend came over. I called my grandma and told her. My grandma came over and sent the babysitter home (without pay) and gave us a bath. My parents were confused when they got home. I actually really remember this.
