Aah.... Saturday. This is the first Saturday in a while where I have nothing to do--at all. I have nowhere I'm required to be and it feels great!
I slept in, caught up on some of my programs.....
And what am I doing now, you might ask?
Watching MTV's marathon of "The Hills" while I tidy up. (Secretly wishing it was a "16 & Pregnant" marathon instead).
Don't judge me. It's Saturday!

Go See This.
I'm usually not the biggest fan of Nicholas Sparks movies.... love his books, but the movies usually aren't great. I wasn't expecting The Last Song to be good, but it was PG and my mother-in-law and I wanted to go see a movie. It started off kinda weak, but got way good, surprisingly.
Go see it. Take a box of tissues.

Surprise!!
I got my yearly check-up a few weeks back and the doctor decided she wanted to schedule me for some blood work (it had been a while). So, last Saturday I had my blood drawn. They called today with the following information:
"We got the results from your blood work. The doctor said that everything looks normal. There's nothing she's concerned about. Everything looks good. The only thing that she said was a little higher than normal is your.... cholesterol... yeah, it's just a little higher than normal, but she said it's nothing she's too concerned about right now."

That was the biggest shock! (Sarcasm) Today, to congratulate myself on my exceptional cholesterol, I came home and ate some Easter candy.
I can't help it. I just really like candy.

Letters from a Concerned Fan
Dear Pandora Radio,
There is too much Dave Matthews Band on my John Mayer Radio station. Maybe I have given you the wrong impression by marking "like" to a few DMB classics... and I apologize for the misunderstanding and I will try to correct the problem as soon as possible. As long as you no longer play Jack Johnson, I'm pretty sure we'll still be friends.
Respectfully,
Kathleen
Dear Gossip Girl,
Excellent job this week, as always. If I may make a suggestion, though--I kind of like the idea of Nate & Jenny. Maybe I just like the under-dog? Serena is over-rated, and if I may say so, a bit boring these days. I'm Team Jenny.
XOXO,
Kathleen
Dear Bones,
Welcome back! I'm sorry that lame things like the Winter Olympics and 3-full nights of American Idol each week kept us apart for so long. I apologize that I was not there to see your mid-season re-premiere. I promise that I will get around to watching the latest episode soon! I'm the one being lame now, I know. See you soon!!
Love,
Kathleen

Ok, so I LOVE LOVE this commercial. I laugh every time I see it... even though I've seen it a million times. Enjoy!

Deep Thoughts
I find myself getting angry with my besties for not updating their blogs more often...
...and then I realize that I haven't updated in almost a month!
So I realized that I probably have no room to be angry... but I probably will be anyway.
So here are some of my thoughts from the last month:
We went to see Mr. John Mayer last week and it was phenomenal! He's just so stinking talented. Best. Christmas present. Ever! We also really enjoyed all of the scandalously-dressed girls sitting in the upper-bowl... can't you just see it?? Someday John Mayer is going to stop mid-song and say, "YOU! Up there at the top!! I. Want. You."
Another thought on Mr. Mayer--I got kinda sad while I was there when he sang "Perfectly Lonely." Before the song he said, "Who out there is 'perfectly lonely?' You know.. you're single, and you're totally ok with it. This song is for you." Well, I realized that all of his songs are really, really sad. Awesome, but sad. He's clearly miserable and trying to talk himself into thinking he's ok with it. You know, though--I don't think I want him to be happy... because I'm selfish and I love his music... so, you know....
Today I was thinking... everyday I wake up and think, "I'm going to eat better today." And everyday I ruin that by lunch. I just love candy. Get candy, get candy, get candy!
AND, I'm way glad that Gossip Girl is back. I HEART Gossip Girl.
And that's about all I've thought in the last month--ok, just kidding--but that's all you're getting!

One Year Ago...
(yesterday) Or really, 366 days ago...
Early in the afternoon, I received this cryptic text message from my boyfriend:
"Dinner tonight?"
"On a Thursday?" I thought...
but instead, I responded "Sure!"
Then I didn't hear from him for a really long time. I got ready to go out and then sat, and sat, and watched TV until I finally heard from him that he would be over to get me around 8. 8?! I was starving!
So around 8, I hear a knock on the door. Steve looked so nice... and he was acting kind of weird. The first thing he asked me was, "Did your dad just call you?" And I said, "no.... why?" and he just ignored the question. He seemed really nervous.
So we got in the car and he didn't even ask me where I wanted to eat... we were just driving. (That never happened!) So we start heading in a familiar direction... toward Franklin Park. He parks the car, and by this point I knew why we were there... and I started to get nervous!
We walked across the street to the park, and literally 3 steps into the park, I lost Steve.... I turned around and he was down on one knee!!
And just like that, we were engaged!! My ring is beautiful! We walked around the park (yes, in February...) until we decided to go to dinner. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen (where we had our first date). Our phones were ringing off the hook, but we didn't answer them during dinner! We started calling our family once we finished dinner! It was a great night!!
Last night to celebrate, we went to CPK and walked around Barnes & Noble. Oh, what a wonderful year it has been!!!
I only had one picture from that night... and now I can't even find that... so here is one of our engagement pictures from the set that we hated:
